Mind of the People Index is a real-time, crowd-sourced sentiment indicator that measures collective public opinion through a transparent, time-weighted methodology.
Our Philosophy
MOP Index operates on a 0–100% scale, where 50% represents perfect neutrality. Above 50% indicates positive sentiment, below 50% indicates negative sentiment.
Unlike traditional polls that capture a snapshot in time, MOP is a living, breathing index — it prioritizes what people think right now while preserving the weight of historical consensus.
The Engine
Sentiment Mapping
Every vote is mapped to a numerical value that feeds into the index calculation.
Time-Decay Weighting
Older votes gradually lose influence with a 14-day half-life, ensuring the index always reflects current sentiment.

A self-adjusting confidence constant prevents manipulation and adds inertia as the community grows. Early on, the index is responsive. As data accumulates, it becomes more authoritative and harder to sway.

Anti-Wash Protection
Re-casting the same opinion does not reset your vote's timestamp. This prevents vote-washing — artificially refreshing influence without changing your mind.
1-Hour Cooldown
After voting or changing your opinion, a 1-hour cooldown period is enforced. This prevents short-term noise from emotional or automated rapid-fire voting.
Opinion Change
Changing your mind is respected. When you switch your vote, your weight resets to 1.0 as a fresh expression of will — the system honors genuine shifts in perspective.
Keep My Opinion
As your vote decays over time, you can renew it by confirming you still hold the same opinion. This distinguishes active, engaged participants from dormant accounts.
